Is this your first film role?

ONYE OZI is my first film role.

What character do you play? Tell us a bit about her.

I play the young girl who went to audition in Tj’s office. However, the audition took an entirely different turn. You will have to watch the movie to find out more.

What made you want to audition for ONYE OZI (The Messenger)?

The fact that it would be a film in the Igbo language! I was so excited when we were told to recite lines in Igbo. This is because it was different from other auditions I had attended in the past. I was even more happy when was told I had a speaking role in ONYE OZI. This was because I’m used to doing extras in movies, so this was a big break for me. For this, I would like to use this opportunity to thank Mr Obi Emelonye and the production crew for putting up this movie and also for making it the first Igbo movie produced in London. I am so proud to be part of the ONYE OZI.

What was the initial reaction from family and friends when you told them that you would be involved in the first ever Igbo language film in London?

My family are happy to know that I am part of this movie, especially my sister( Naya Amobi) who is  an upcoming actress residing in Nigeria. When I told my friends about ONYE OZI, they were surprised that I was playing a part in the movie. They look forward to seeing it on the day of the premier. The movie ONYE OZI has made me proud to be Igbo. This is also good for the future of our kids as so many of the kids abroad have forgotten their roots and culture.

How different did it feel for you to act in an Igbo language film in comparison to English? Was it easier or harder, considering you had to learn the script in Igbo etc?

Speaking in my native dialect (Igbo) in the ONYE OZI  movie, was very interesting as I had to endeavour to speak Igbo fluently without adding any English words to the sentence. I had to practice it repeatedly in order to get my lines right.

What do you wish for the outcome of ONYE OZI?

I wish for ONYE OZI  to be an inspiration to every Igbo person, as it is the first time a movie has being done like that in London. I look forward to seeing the movie in the premier.

Any final comments?

We urge people to come and support this project. I am so honored to be part of the Onye Ozi experience. Igbo Kwenu!
