Meet Emmanuella, one of the producers of the Igbo film production ONYE OZI…

Full Name: Emmanuella Ngozi Ideh

State of Origin: Delta State

emmanuella ideh

Is this the first film you have produced ?

I  have always liked being in the production part of filming. I started off as a Musician, then produced my first documentary called “Divided  By Race, United By War and Peace.” This project showcased the relationship between black and white World War II service men and women www.dividedbyrace.the-latest.com

What was the initial reaction from family and friends, when you told them that you will be involved in the first ever Igbo language film in London?

They were excited , and proud. How different did you feel people felt about speaking full Igbo in the  film, in comparison to English?, Was it easier or harder, considering you had to learn the script in Igbo, etc?

It seemed easier, and many felt at home.ONYE OZI will definitely bring something new to Nollywood, being one of the few Igbo films being made. Considering the large number of Igbo actors/actresses, directors in the Industry, why do you think there are very few Igbo films being made, in comparison with other groups?

No concrete reason really. We just need to come together and support ourselves in every way to put Igbo back on the top of African cinema.

What do you wish for the outcome of ONYE OZI (The Messenger)?
I wish for people to believe in what we do , and SUPPORT, SUPPORT, SUPPORT.

Any final comments?
