The Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood, was thrown into mourning as two of hers were announced dead same day.
The news of the death of Veteran actor Romanus Uchenna Amuta, who is popularly known as Natty from the now rested sitcom of the 80s, New Masquerade filtered in last weekend but later it was confirmed that he lives on.
Romanus who has been suffering from stroke and reportedly lives in penury cheated death but not the same for the Enugu based Nollywood costumier, Lizzy Ogbodo. She died from complications from typhoid fever and malaria on June 7.
According to a close friend of Lizzy, actress Ejiro Okurame, her neighbour saw her collapsed body on the stairs to her home in Enugu and rushed her to a hospital but her blood pressure was very high.
“She was in coma for 3 days with oxygen before she was taken to another hospital for CT brain test, where doctors were waiting for her to come out from coma before treating her well or do brain surgery till she died by 2am on Saturday morning.
“She’s like a sister to me and Mama G. We have been in tears since the incident. She is survived by 3 kids who are currently in the university,” actress Ejiro Okurame said.
