Is this your first film role?
No, I have been in Mirror Boy and a short film titled Bianca.
What character do you play? Tell us a bit about her.
I play a female police officer who makes an arrest in an extraordinary way. Find out more at the premiere.
What made you want to audition for ONYE OZI (The Messenger)?
Another opportunity to tell a story the audience would love.
What was the initial reaction from family and friends when you told them that you will be involved in the first ever Igbo language film in London?
They were happy for me and can’t wait to watch the movie.
How different did it feel for you to act in an Igbo language film, in comparison to English? Was it easier or harder, considering you had to learn the script in Igbo, etc?
Well, I studied Linguistic at the university, so I was able to understand what the director wanted. Still, acting in Igbo was different and funny.
This film will defiantly bring something new to Nollywood, being one of the few Igbo films being made. Considering the large number of Igbo actors/actresses, directors in the industry, why do you think there are very few Igbo films being made, in comparison with other groups?
If Igbo people were totally proud of their language, they would do everything possible to showcase it.
What do you wish for the outcome of ONYE OZI (The Messenger)?
I hope it makes people want to speak more of the language and engage in other good cultural activities that will benefit them and society.
