Liverpool set to offer loan deal to Chelsea's Kenneth Omeruo

The Nigerian defender is supposedly surplus to requirements at the Stamford Bridge and needs to go on loan to get play time Kenneth Omeruo who just arrived at the Chelsea Cobham training ground in England last week, after receiving his work permit, may go on loan to Liverpool to get some playing time as reported in the Daily Mail.

The defender who shone for Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations and in the Confederations Cup was expected to get into the Chelsea team for the 2013/14 season but Jose Mourinho seems to have other options.

The 19-year-old was subsequently given jersey number 51 and is currently training with Chelsea’s U-21 team. Liverpool are believed to lead the queue of clubs that want him, which also includes Swansea and West Brom.

The Nigeria defender was on loan last season at Dutch club ADO Den Haag, where he played 27 league games.

Omeruo won the Afcon with Nigeria in February 2013.
