Harrison Ford Replaces Bruce Willis In ‘Expendables 3′

Harrison Ford Will Replace Willis in ‘Expendables 3′

Harrison Ford

In a somewhat unexpected rant, ‘Rocky’ actor Stallone slams Willis openly on Twitter and promptly replaces him with ‘Indiana Jones’ star, Harrison Ford, for his upcoming threequel, ‘Expendables 3’.

After countless excitable comments on his Twitter feed last month, hailing his new ‘EX3’ line up as “…a Blessing!” and “Best Group of the year…”, Stallone seemed to do a U-turn on Tuesday, this time openly slamming fellow ‘Expendables’ and ‘Die Hard’ star, Bruce Willis by tweeting, “WILLIS OUT… HARRISON FORD IN !!!! GREAT NEWS!!!!! Been waiting years for this!!!!” Stallone, who has written all three ‘Expendables’ films, surprised fans with his shocking revelation of the sudden cast change on ‘EX3’, which is due to begin filming later this month, with the release date set for next year.

One follower on Twitter was unimpressed, calling for Stallone to “Show some class… or be and act like an adult?” According to reports, Stallone had apparently fallen into some kind of dispute over pay with Willis. Five minutes after his first rant, Stallone came back to vent some more, this time reportedly making reference to Willis as “GREEDY AND LAZY…… A SURE FORMULA FOR CAREER FAILURE”, as confirmed by The Huffington Post. Since then, his scathing attack has been re-tweeted 1,200 times, with his first surprise tweet hitting closer to the 2,772 mark.

Contrary to Stallone’s strictly inaccurate ‘career failure’ comment and with the exception of the early 1980s when Willis was still struggling to make it as an actor, he has indeed been working steadily since 1985, when he first graced our screens as David Addison in the hit television show ‘Moonlighting’. Since the 1990s, Willis has been churning out an average of 3 to a staggering 6 films a year (7 in 2006) and seems to show no signs of stopping. Willis, who has also starred in films such as ‘Pulp Fiction’, ‘Bonfire of the Vanities’, ‘Death Becomes Her’ and ‘The Sixth Sense’ has benefitted by being cast in far more diverse roles than those of Stallone, perhaps giving Willis more of an edge from which to flex his acting muscle and take more of a break away from being typecast as a muscly macho.

Willis made appearances as Mr Church in the first two ‘Expendables’ films, starring opposite other heavy weights Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li and Dolph Lundgren. More recently, stars Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes, Nicholas Cage and Milla Jovovich are all reportedly set to be new additions to the cast, with more rumoured reports of Mel Gibson coming in as a villain.
