Leadership of the Lagos State University(LASU) students have rejected the State’s Governor Babatunde Fashola, offer to slash 34 to 60 percent of their school fees.
The reason, according to the students is that, when the school fees were hiked, it wasn’t by percentage, the government actually gave them the actually amount they were to be paying. Now the government is slashing it by percentage.
The students want the government to give them the actual school fees now in Naira and Kobo, because some of their parents, who are traders or do not know to calculate percentage, will find it difficult to calculate the percentage slash to get the new fees price.
The LASU Union President, Yusuf Nurudeen, said the institution would remain shut until government acceded to their demands.
