A disgruntled employee abducted and killed a baby related to his former boss because he felt he had been badly treated.
Wang Wenlian, 45, took the 10-month-old infant from the Chuanfu hotpot restaurant in Jiaxing City – a moment chillingly captured on CCTV – to avenge a grudge against his former boss.
He blamed him and colleagues for not giving him the respect he deserved.
Previously he had been given the relatively simple task of killing chickens, but his employers complained that he was too slow and he resigned.
Despite this, the cafe felt sorry for him and continued to give him some money, as well as allowing him to live in a room above the restaurant.
But Wang was still unhappy, and when he turned up for a chat with his old bosses to find them with friends and family, he seized a chance to carry away the child.
The tot was the restaurant owner’s niece and the mother is believed to have been an accountant at the business.
When the baby kept crying, Wang told police he “got angry” and killed the infant with his hands and stones, then dumped it in a shallow grave.
The baby’s body was found in the early hours of Wednesday morning and Wang was later arrested in a drinking den in the local Tanghui sub-district.
