Toni Braxton Loses 27 Songs After Filing Bankruptcy

The newly single and broke Toni Braxton has lost the copyright to 27 of her favorite songs. She is being forced to learn that the present tense is the most precious thing there is because it is the only time people own. Toni Braxton should understand that better than some. Nothing exists outside the present tense.

The six-time Grammy Award winner has filed for bankruptcy not once but twice. Toni Braxton may still have a song in her heart after filing for bankruptcy, but she just lost more than 2 dozen tunes that made her famous thanks to a guy named Ross M. Klein.

Braxton, 45, struck a deal in her bankruptcy case which allowed her an opportunity to buy back 27 songs from her music catalog for $20k unless she was outbid. Klein doubled Toni’s price and walked away with ownership of the tunes.

Toni Michelle Braxton is an American R & B singer-songwriter, pianist, musician, record producer, actress, television personality, and philanthropist. Braxton has won 6 Grammy Awards, 7 American Music Awards, and 9 Billboard Music Awards.

She recently finalized her divorce from husband of 12 years, Keri Lewis. The split was amicable, Lewis is the father of her two sons, Denim, 11, and Diezel, 10 and they share custody of the children.

Braxton has gone through a lot these past few years and if she spends too much time focused on the past depression will have a greater chance of overtaking her. If she learns the importance of life in the present tense, her focus will be on here and now and nowhere else. This will allow her focus, strength and direction to increase in this moment. It will bring her to a much more heightened state of awareness, where intuition and creativity can operate freely.

Life in the present tense allows one the privilege of pure potential. This is where positive, good things occur. It is the state of mind which allows people to increase in all favorable outcomes.

It may be hard for Braxton to carry a tune in bankruptcy but the good thing is that’s her past and she is the only one that can make the decision to move past it and live in the present. People can always cope with the present moment, but it’s very difficult trying to cope with something that is only a mind projection or a memory.

Braxton may have lost the rights to her songs but hopefully she won’t lose too much time worrying about it. Time is something that people never get back. Please don’t allow yesterday to eat away at tomorrow. Put all those obstacles behind you for they have no place in your future; tell yourself that from this point on nothing is going to stand in your way.

Good luck Toni Braxton on your next phase of life.
