Super Eagles and Sunshine Stars of Akure defender, Godfrey Oboabona, has sustained an injury on his hand, after he was mobbed by the club’s fans, as he trained in Owo this week.
The 22-year-old, who returned the club after a break announced by national team officials, was training on the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, when excited fans rushed to him to request for autographs and photos.
Oboabona then got injured while signing the numerous requests by a pen or a piece of wood.
“It was not deliberate. The fans just wanted to take pictures and there is nothing wrong with that,” Oboabona told KickOffNigeria.
“I think maybe it happened by mistake, but I’m okay. It’s nothing serious,” he said.
