Fighting That Oily Face For A Fresher You

Oily Face peculiarmagazine

No matter how much it rains, the weather of Nigeria can be really hot at times. This can mean oily faces for a lot of people. For others, no matter the weather condition, their skin would always glitter with facial oil. A dermatologist said,

“The combination of greater humidity and the fact that you’re sweating more can exacerbate oil production, resulting in increased shine,”

By all means, what can you do to permanently deal with it? Here are some tips;

  • Leave your cleanser on twice as long before rinsing and then use half as much moisturizer as you typically do. The same product will work totally differently.
  • Try not to over exfoliate. When you aggressively strip the skin of oil, the skin acts as if it’s under attack, which often can yield even more oil.
  • Use a powder that contains clay. It functions almost like a sponge, soaking up any oil, without adding bulk to your skin. Check the back/bottom of your powder case to know if it has it or not.

Other funny/ not professional remedies people have resorted to includes;

My mom taught me to put rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and rub that on your face. It grabs oil and leaves your face shine-free — it works every time!”

Sugar and honey as a facial cleanser works very well for me

Make a mask from eggs and sugar. It’s great for everyone!

I steam my face twice a week to open my pores before I exfoliate. That’s what I’ll call ‘deep cleansing’!

“Once a week, I mix the juice from an orange and some egg yolk and put it on my face for about 10 minutes. It sounds disgusting, but it totally works!”

I use a light, gentle moisturizer mixed with Shea butter every night. The body fixes itself in the night so this is a great way to fix your skin.

Hmm… What’s your own oil battling home remedy, if you have one?
