Battle with NDLEA: Baba Suwe moves to Supreme Court

Unrelenting actor, Babatunde Omidina has moved to the Supreme Court as his battle with NDLEA over N25m compensation thickens.

The Baba Suwe star, through his solicitor is leaving no stone upturned as he’s bent on getting the N25million claim as compensation from the National Drugs Law and Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, over his arrest and detention.

This is coming after an Appeal Court in Lagos quashed an earlier judgement by a High Court which awarded the said sum to Baba Suwe over the violation of the actor’s fundamental human rights, after the anti-drugs agency held him for about three weeks in their custody on the suspicion of ingesting substance believed to be narcotic.

Baba Suwe’s counsel, Bamidele Aturu filed a notice of appeal at the Supreme Court on Friday, July 12, 2013, challenging the decision of the Appeal Court to quash the judgment of the High Court in Lagos.
