16 killed, Many Injured As Explosions Hit Bayero University Kano.

An early morning raid on a Catholic student fellowship at the old campus of Bayero University in Kano has led to the death of at least 16 people and many injured according to police sources.

The attack on an early morning student fellowship started around 8: 30 am when two explosion rocked two corresponding theaters at the university where Christians usually have their services on Sundays. The bomb explosions were followed by gunshots that lasted several minutes before police arrived the scene.

Eyewitnesses at the university say that the attackers armed with grenades and AK 47 assault rifles came in a Honda car and two motorbikes and surrounded the two adjourning theaters where christian fellowships were being held. They hauled grenades at the buildings and began shooting at worshippers fleeing the scene of the grenade attack.
