A man in his thirties created scare at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, yesterday, when he beat all security checks to gain access to the tarmac. His action made the security operatives to scamper, was said to have been aimed at forcefully boarding a flight to Europe.
He broke the glasses of the boarding gate at the airport and entered straight into the tarmac and started shouting on top of his voice that he wanted to travel to Europe. ‘I want to go to abroad; I want to go to Europe. Please give way for me to go.’
His loud noise attracted some aviation personnel on the tarmac, who thought he was a terrorist and first scampered for safety, while some of them, who could brave the situation called the attention of security officers attached to the airport.
Few minutes after the scene, the combined team of security agents who he had earlier beaten apprehended him and quickly took him away from the tarmac. The security personnel later told the apprehensive passengers at the airport that he was a lunatic who found himself in the vicinity.
